The Direct Pipeline
God designed blood with a lifeline through deliberate links connecting physical things and spiritual things with compelling evidence to draw us to him. Again, we see Abel’s sacrifice of a pure, spotless lamb as a foretelling of Jesus’ death on the cross. This connection reveals the physical power of the blood, to the spiritual power of the blood, covering confessed sins while living, and after, life on this earth throughout the millennium and eternity. This is a big deal and is very important to think about.
Each heart is a physical pump and if it stops pumping blood, we die. It is a complex pump, far from simple in its functions. Our spiritual life is eternal and can direct our souls into a powerful, peaceful connection to God if we understand and protect its complex simplicity. However, if ignored, can lead us into a life anything but peaceful during and after death. The direction of your life’s pipeline is at stake.
In Genesis 15, God made a promise to Abram and sealed it with a blood covenant. At Passover through the blood of a lamb, God provided salvation to his people, saving each life of the oldest son in every Israelite family and freeing his people from the cruel pharaoh. In Colossians 1, when God hung on the cross in the form of a man, he offered his own blood so each one of us could belong to him. God loves us and wants to connect our heart to his.
BLOOD
Blood is the direct pipeline for nourishing every body part. When a person becomes sick or has symptoms of a disease, what is the first thing medical professionals check? The blood.
Blood knows exactly what you need and reacts accordingly. When you’re running, your heart beats harder and faster to provide more blood and oxygen to your muscles. If you get an infection, your blood automatically increases the number of immune cells in that area to to fight off vicious germs, then cleanses and restores the blood completely.
The condition of your physical blood determines
the direction of your life.
What makes blood so special? It’s made up of liquids and solids. The liquid part is called plasma and is made up of water, salts, and proteins, making up over half the content of blood. It then carries oxygen and nutrients to living cells and takes away waste products.
The solid part of blood is made up of red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets. Blood is precious. It’s called ‘red gold’ because the cells and proteins it contains can be sold for more than the cost of the same weight in gold.
Following are links comparing the components of both physical and spiritual blood.
RED CELLS
PHYSICAL PROTECTION:
- Red blood cells contain hemoglobin, the protein that carries life-giving oxygen to your body, and carries carbon dioxide from your body to your lungs for you to exhale.
SPIRITUAL PROTECTION:
- Christ’s blood brings eternal life to your soul and removes sin through the process of repentance.
WHITE CELLS
PHYSICAL PROTECTION: There are 5 types of white cells to fight off foreign bodies.
- Monocytes. They have a longer lifespan than many white blood cells and help to break down bacteria.
- Lymphocytes. They create antibodies to fight against bacteria, viruses, and other potentially harmful invaders.
- Neutrophils. They play important roles in our innate immune system. They circulate around our body in the bloodstream, and when they sense signals that an infection is present, they are the first cells to migrate to the site of the infection to begin killing the invading microbes.
- Basophils. They’re part of your immune system and play a role in its proper function.
- Eosinophils. These are immune system components responsible for combating multicellular parasites and certain infections in vertebrates.
SPIRITUAL PROTECTION: The blood of Christ not only fights off evil influences infecting your mind and soul, but also heals physically “… and by his stripes we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities, against rulers of this dark world and spiritual wickedness in high places. Therefore, put on the whole armor of God that you might be able to stand in that evil day.”
Ephesians 6:12-13
PLATELETS
PHYSICAL PROTECTION:
- Platelets are critical in causing blood to clot. They can form a plug in a damaged blood vessel to prevent blood loss.
SPIRITUAL PROTECTION:
- Christ’s blood keeps you whole, protecting you from the destroyer and preventing damage to your soul.
PLASMA
PHYSICAL PROTECTION:
- Plasma is mostly water and is the transportation vehicle for dissolved proteins, glucose, clotting factors, electrolytes, hormones, carbon dioxide and oxygen.
- The main role of plasma is to take nutrients, hormones and proteins to the parts of the body that need it.
SPIRITUAL PROTECTION:
- When Christ sacrificed his blood for you, he provided a vehicle for the Holy Spirit to carry spiritual nutrients to your body and soul through the dunamis power of God’s word and the blood of the Lamb. When you are covered by the blood of Christ, the Lamb of God, God can no longer see your sin, but only sees the blood of his precious son.
The condition of your soul is determined through
your acceptance of the blood of Christ.
It will protect your life throughout eternity.
“For the life of the flesh is in the blood; and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes an atonement for the soul.” Leviticus 17:11
“Because God’s children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying.” Hebrews 2:14-15
“And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation.” Romans 5:9
“But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ.” Ephesians 2:13
“For God in all his fullest was pleased to live in Christ, and by him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of his blood on the cross.” Colossians 1:19-20
“Just think how much more the blood of Christ will purify our consciences from sinful deeds so that we can worship the living God. For by the power of the eternal Spirit, Christ offered himself to God as a perfect sacrifice for our sins.” Hebrews 9:14
“…let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:22
“God the Father knew you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result, you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace.”
1 Peter 1:2
